The Gathering of the Ghouls is a new con for those who dig horror, which isn’t necessarily us, but we like Halloween stuff so here we are!
Jaime, Allysen, and Melissa (and one other) were mermaids at the Dark Ones party tonight and were quite an attraction.
So I just got back from 2 back-to-back conferences in Las Vegas and wow, am I tired! I got to spend a lot of quality time with coworkers and talking to vendors and other like-minded nerds and geeks.
At Blackhat, I ran into John Hammond, and if you haven’t seen his Youtube Channel, you’re missing out. He goes into some hacker tools and displays his prowess over Linux and other operating systems. It’s pretty impressive.
We needed to get together to have some strategy and budget discussions, it was a lot of tough work and we tried to balance it out with some good food and breaking bread with a couple of our local team mates. Nashville’s Broadway strip hasn’t changed at all since the last time my wife and I were there, back in 2018.

For Angela’s birthday, we did a Harry Potter themed party at the Drink Me Tea Room down in Tempe/Chandler. It was a lot of fun!
For the Fourth of July, we did 2 separate events… one at our house with our friends and family to enjoy the pool, we did that the weekend before the fourth, and then on the fourth itself at Brandee and Brent’s, as per tradition. Both were lots of fun!

Father’s day weekend and the lake was so packed that I had to park the truck outside of the parking area, about a quarter mile from where we launched the boat! But once we got out onto the water, it was just a great, relaxing time with our friends! We chilled, listened to music, had a couple drinks, ate a little, and swam.
Our nerd-fest celebration has come around, we all reunite and get nerdy and geeky and dress up and go be fans of comic actors! We hang out, we eat, we drink, we hang out together, it’s just a lot of fun for almost a week! Our new tradition as of last year, is that my brother flies out from Michigan and we just spend a lot of good quality time together. We have so many friends with similar interests, it’s quite a reunion of sorts!
